Tennessee Mountain Biking Summit
October 7, 2008 – 8:49 am
Mountain biking enthusiasts from across Tennessee will gather at Fall Creek Falls State Park, in Pikeville, November 7 - 9 for the 2008 Tennessee Mountain Bike Summit.
The summit will bring mountain biking advocates, land managers, and trail builders, together for collaboration, planning and riding. One of the main topics to be discussed will include how existing mountain biking organizations and local advocates can work together to improve advocacy at a state-wide level.
The summit will be based at the Fall Creek Falls State Park lnn. Festivities will be kicked off on Friday evening with a meet and greet event at the lodge. In addition to workshops and a panel discussion, we will make sure you get plenty of time on the bike to experience the amazing local trail system in the park.
The Summit, itself, will be free, but you will be responsible for your own travel expenses (if you are in a local club, you may be able to get reimbursed for this, or, alternatively, get your local bike shop to sponsor you). We plan to provide beer and snacks Friday and Saturday evening, but all other meals will be on your own. There is a restaurant in the lodge that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Camping is available at the park, as well as rooms at the Fall Creek Falls Park Inn. Inn rooms start at $68 and camping is $20. To reserve a room, please call 1-800-250-8610 and let them know you are with the TN State Summit. This is the off season, so the park doesn’t take camping reservations.
Sponsors of this invent include the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and the National Mountain Bike (NMB) message board.
